Women's volleyball wins CCAC Championship

The Trinity women's volleyball team hosted the CCAC Championships tonight as the No. 1 Trolls faced off against the No. 2 Indiana South Bend Titans. After a suspenseful five sets, it was Trinity who was able to come out with a win with scores of 25-20, 6-25, 23-25, 25-15 and 15-4.

Offensively, senior Ana Lambros led the way for the Trolls recording 15 kills while also grabbing 13 digs for another double-double on the season. Junior Mady Zula also had a good night, hitting .700 (7 kills, 0 errors, 10 attempts) from the middle. Along with Lambros, three other Trolls had double-doubles on the night including sophomore Sarah Kiwan (11 kills, 15 digs), junior Anna Maatman (11 kills, 16 digs) and senior Dani Van Laten (50 assists, 15 digs).

On defense, junior Brianna Figueroa recorded the most digs of anyone on the floor, finishing the night with 29 digs. Zula also had the most blocks on the team with five.

With winning the regular season CCAC title, the Trolls locked in their automatic bid to the NAIA tournament. The opening round matchups and host sites will be announced on Monday, Nov. 18. More information will be released once it's available.
