The Trinity women's soccer team played in their last game home game of the season as they faced the Holy Cross Saints. After spending much of the cold, rainy game with out a goal, the Trolls were able to prevail, beating the Saints 1-0.
The first half was scoreless, but not for a lack of trying on the Trolls' end. Trinity put up seven shots in, with the Saints getting none.
It took until the second half for Trinity to score a goal. In the 80th minute, sophomore Brianna Uhl scored a goal off a pass from fellow sophomore Erika Perez to put the Trolls up with 10 minutes remaining.
The Saints were unable to come back, resulting in a win for Trinity.
Along with Uhl's goal, other Trolls put pressure on Holy Cross's defense as the team registered 12 shots on the day. Sophomore Selah Hopkins was able to put up three shots while senior Shaelyn Postmus put up two of her own.
The Trolls have one game left in conference play against Olivet Nazarene, which will decide who is the regular season CCAC Champion. The game will be at Olivet beginning at 1 p.m.
