The Trinity women's soccer team headed to Davenport, Iowa to face the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees. Both teams were undefeated in CCAC play heading into this game, but leaving this match, the Trolls are still undefeated.
In the first half of the match, the Trolls took an early lead. Sophomore Sara Shea scored a goal in the first nine minutes, which led to a 1-0 score benefitting Trinity going into the half.
During the second half, no team was able to put up a goal, resulting in a 1-0 win for the Trolls.
Throughout the match, the Trolls were not able to put pressure on the Fighting Bee's defense. They only put four shots on goal, all of which were in the first half.
But it was junior Ally Kranstz who kept the Trolls in this match. She saved all four shots that were put on goal by St. Ambrose.
This now puts the Trolls at 4-0 in CCAC play and 9-0 overall. The team will be back in action again this Saturday as they take on Calumet College of St. Joseph at 12 p.m. at Schaaf Athletics Complex. During this event, there will be a fundraiser to benefit the Cancer Treatment Centers of America's Breast Cancer Center in Chicago with a donation and a baked sale.
