Trinity's women's golf team tested their skill against a field of nine teams at the Bethel University Battle at Blackthorn over 36 holes. The team posted a two-day total of 819 and finished in 9th place of the nine teams in the tournament. Their results were also a part of the NCCAA North Central Region Tournament in which they took 4th of the four teams.
Trinity shot a team total of 430 after the first 18 holes to finish the first day in 9th place. While they improved their total by 41 strokes the second day, they did not move up in the final standings. In the region results they finished behind Bethel, Judson University, and the University of Northwestern.
The team was led by Ashley Martinez who shot a 188 with a consistent 94 on both days of competition. She took 31st place overall. Merina Miner was one stroke back with an 189 behind rounds of 93 and 96. She finished in a tie for 32nd place.
The team will compete next in the CCAC Cup at Ravisloe Country Club on September 30-October 1.
