The Trinity men's soccer team went to Chicago Heights, Illinois yesterday to take on the Governors State Jaguars. After a hard-fought battle in chilly weather conditions, the Jaguars came out on top, winning 0-1 in double overtime.
Throughout regulation time, the Trolls tried to create opportunities to score on the Jaguars. The first two halves led to six shots for the Trolls compared to the Jaguars' 15. But Trinity's defense worked to keep those shots out of the net.
Once the first overtime period began, the Trolls tried to find the back of the net, working in two shots in 10 minutes. The game then went to a second overtime, where both teams were putting their own shots on goal.
But it was the Jaguars who were able to score first in the 109th minute, causing the Trolls to lose 0-1.
The Trolls will be back in action again on Saturday beginning at 2:30 p.m. as they take on Roosevelt. Prior to the match, Trinity will honor its three seniors Tate Rozeveld, Gabe Soler and Davi Simoes.
