Defensive effort not enough to secure win for Trolls

The Trinity men's soccer team traveled to Trinity International today to face the Trojans in a CCAC match. After getting themselves up to .500 with a win over Calumet-St. Joseph on Saturday, the Trolls lost 2-0 to put them at 2-3 in CCAC play.

During the first half, no team was able to score, but not for a lack of trying. The Trojans put plenty of pressure with five shots against the Trolls' defensive line and goalkeeper Mathis Muller, but were unable to get through. The score was 0-0 heading into the half.

But once the second half began, the Trolls were not able to keep control of the match.

Trinity International's Xavier Brown scored two goals in the 50th and 62nd minute, giving the Trojans a 2-0 lead, and ultimately the win, over the Trolls.

Today, Muller made eight saves against the 10 shots put on goal by Trinity International. Junior Wesley Trueblood was able to put two shots up, one being on goal.

This puts the Trolls at 5-6 overall. They will back in action again on Saturday, Oct. 12, as they take on Cardinal Stritch beginning at 2:30 p.m.
